Upgrade your Td5's cooling system with our OAT-grade silicone coolant hose kit — built specifically for the OAT extended-life coolant Land Rover specifies from the Td5 onward. It uses an OAT coolant-resistant liner and reinforcement to shrug off the additives that slowly attack ordinary silicone, runs to a higher temperature and burst pressure than standard coolant hose, and is built to outlast the original rubber many times over.
OAT coolant-resistant polyester reinforcement, 5.5mm wall and a thick 2mm OAT-resistant inner liner with a smooth, cellulose-bound bore.
Rated higher than standard coolant hose — stable from a frozen winter start to sustained under-bonnet heat.
Stainless steel Mikalor clamps with collars for even, secure, corrosion-resistant clamping.
Doesn't perish like rubber
OEM rubber coolant hoses live a hard life. Years of heat cycling slowly harden the rubber, while coolant and engine heat cause it to perish, crack and swell internally — narrowing the bore and eventually leading to splits, leaks and roadside coolant loss. Silicone doesn't perish the way rubber does: it stays flexible across a huge temperature range, shrugs off repeated heat cycling, and holds its shape and bore for far longer. The multi-ply OAT-resistant reinforcement resists collapse under vacuum and pressure, keeping your cooling system reliable for years rather than becoming a known failure point.
Built for OAT coolant
From the Td5, Land Rover moved to an OAT extended-life coolant — the Texaco Havoline XLC pink type, mixed 50/50. Standard silicone can be slowly attacked by the additives in OAT coolants over time, which is exactly why this kit uses our OAT-grade hose: an OAT coolant-resistant liner and reinforcement, tested in boiling Havoline XLC — the very coolant your Td5 runs — with minimal swelling or loss of strength.
