Billet take-off plate — direct FTC2687 replacement

Machined in-house from billet aluminium as a direct replacement for OE part FTC2687, our thermostatic take-off plate retains the original specification and function. Its integrated thermostat regulates oil flow within the typical OEM operating range of 85-95°C for optimal thermal performance, with a choice of operating temperatures to suit your application (see below). Two M20×1.5 ports match the original gearbox cooler fittings for a direct fit, or work with adapters in a custom setup.

Universal fit — mount it where airflow is best

This is a universal kit, used on both road-going Defenders and race vehicles running the R380 gearbox. Because almost no two builds are the same, we don't specify a fixed mounting location.

The cooler is supplied with two brackets that sandwich it, using rubber anti-vibration O-rings to prevent cracking caused by vibration. You'll need to fabricate some simple brackets to mount the cooler via these anti-vibration mounts, then position it anywhere at the front of your build where you have space and good airflow. Good airflow is the main thing to aim for — beyond that it's flexible, so you can work it around whatever suits your setup.
